Fro Knows Nothing: A Spot-On Parody of ‘Fro Knows Photo’ PetaPixel

In a (mostly) loving parody created for April Fools’ Day, photographer Vanessa Joy has put together a hilarious impersonation of Jared Polin—AKA Fro Knows Photo—by creating her own version of a “Photo News Fix” video… complete with fake fro.

First things first: this definitely wasn’t done in any mean-spirited way. Joy seems to have warned Polin that it was coming, and … well … as they say: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

“Can’t say I didn’t warn him… here’s my version of a photo news fix by FroKnowsPhoto, complete with I SHOOT RAW shirt and all. April fools on you Jared Polin!” reads the video description. “I think we all can agree I don’t have a future in stand-up, but I am happy to say that all of this I just thought up on the spot with the camera on me when we were ready to film.”

From the background, to the “Joy Pack” preset pitch, to the spot-on impression of Polin’s characteristic speaking cadence and, of course, the I Shoot Raw T-shirt, Vanessa absolutely nails this impersonation. And the added touch of including an off-camera comment from Steven, Fro’s editor, really makes it feel like an authentic Photo News Fix. There’s even a parody of Fro’s “wind tunnel test” for lenses.

Fair warning: there’s quite a bit of cursing, so this wouldn’t be considered “safe for work”… or maybe “safe for speakers” while your kids are in the room. Assuming that checks out for you, click play up top if you need a laugh this Thursday morning, and be sure to stick around until the end to catch the bloopers.
